Never afraid of a monogram update, recently MCM has announced a collaboration with the quirky, multi-talented pop art duo Craig & Karl on a fun and irreverent collection of leather goods for the spring/summer season. Entitled ‘Eyes on the Horizon’, this limited edition collection references sunny vacations and includes playful, colourful backpacks, document holders, pouches and purses.

In high demand, and well deserved, pop art whiz-duo Craig & Karl are becoming near household names as their creative vision is being scattered throughout the world due to high-profile collaborations with names such as Sephora, New York Magazine, Vogue, The XX, and now the luxury German leather goods gurus at MCMCraig & Karl joined forces with MCM to fuse art and fashion together into the daily lives of fashion connoisseurs and art lovers alike.

The collaboration is a bold and fresh combination of the iconic German-engineered functionality with traditional craftsmanship of MCM with the colorful and abstract creative vision of Craig & Karl. The artwork is focused on playful eyes peering out through pairs of sunglasses while taking on amusing and abstracted forms to add a sense of fun and modernity to the collection.

Craig & Karl then paired the eyes with splashes of color and summer motifs such as palm trees and water reflections. A delightful contrast is achieved between MCM’s classic hazel print, and Craig & Karl’s bright colours and wild shapes.
